Continue Introduction
The high school and later the nautical college were the only part of my obligatory school period.
I never felt the need to be educated in talents which were already present by birth. It has flourished playfully in a natural way. Although, I did let inspire myself by people who came on my path.
Besides drawing and painting, inspiring people appeared to be likewise important. My activities must however inspire other people, because of my love for that particular expression. To be inspired or being 'touched' is to be the source of inspiration itself. Hence I reflect my knowledge to other people in educating them in the art of painting. It is my wish that the course participants see me as an inspiration, rather than an obligatory education.
Because of my very detailed artwork, more than once people expect to notice a narrow minded personality full of discipline. It's not my desire to perform, but rather the love and passion for each detail, which give me the patience to work the way I do.
Art painters who inspire me till today are Alice Buis,
Herman Smorenburg and Rene Zwaga. Of course there are many more, but these particular painters appeared to be friends as well.
As said, I started my career as a professional artist after the memorable journey through Africa. My parents were willing to accommodate the fresh and poor artist once more. So at the age of forty I had to find shelder again under the wings of mum and dad. It was a period to integrate and express the feelings and impressions I made on my travels. Time to express myself into the art of painting.
In 1998 the national famous Dutch television personality Rik Felderhof asked me to appear in his television show. It came to his attention that a former bodybuilder and fitnessinstructor had been transformed into a meditating painter of art (how weird can it get? ) This television show was broadcasted on 25-12-1998. Rik Felderhof gave me the opportunity to show my paintings to a wide spread audience. It appeared to be a turning point in my short career as an artist.
Till today all my work has been sold, as a consequence not much of my art has been exhibited. Hence I decided to bring attention to my work by publishing limited edition (Giclee) and gift-cards.
So now more people, including myself will have the opportunity to enjoy the World Heritage Collection for a fair price.

Upcoming projects:
I intend to travel (end of 2005) to Asia, to get inspired and continue the art collection of that part of our world heritage. This website will keep you informed.

It is possible to assign me a particular art work according your personal wishes, however your wishes must not be in conflict with my personal morality and freedom of expression.
An example of an assignment is the painting :'Om mani padme hum'.
